Episode 4 of Australia’s Next Top Model was a big week of change for the girls; it was MAKEOVER WEEK! This is a big lesson for any model that wants to be at the top you have to be a chameleon and adapt to the situation and the look you are give by the client. The top 10 had the challenge of make their mark and owning their new looks.
Some of the girls took the news pretty hard but there was no time to be down, as the photo shoot this week was their only opportunity to be scored. The girls had to go out there and own their new look in an intimating situation – shooting in a group of some particularly stand out characters – the bikies, punks and hipsters.
We have experience this throughout our own careers, when working in a group photo shoot with photographer Terry Richardson and while shooting amongst 10 other male models. It was all about making your presence felt, not getting lost in the group – so we completely understand the challenge the girls were facing.
The makeovers were particularly overwhelming for Kassidy as she had the biggest change so it was understandable that she came on set quite nervous and upset. However, as top models do, she produce a great photo and was able use her new look to her advantage. Kassidy ended up at the top of the leader board. Well-done Kassidy!
As it is every week, unfortunately it was the end of the Australia’s Next Top Model road for someone and after a really strong start to the competition it was sad to see Jordan go. Her positive attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn was amazing and as mentors, we can only hope all the girls learnt a lot from her. Good luck Jordan, we are sure the dream doesn’t end here!
Next week, the girls are faced with screen test in front of iconic model Gemma Ward and surprise road trip. Stay tuned for more.
